Indian Rafale:  Dassault Rafale Aviation

Rafale (literally means ''gust of wing or ''burst of fire'') design & developed by Dassault Aviation for France Air Force and Navy. It is Delta wing, electronic fly by wire control twin-engine air superiority 4++ generation fighter aircraft.
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to France, India signs a deal with Dassault to deliver 37 Rafales in flyway condition. Rafale is a multi-role,air-superiority aircraft which has procured considering its two neighbors China & Pakistan. 
Rafale unit cost considering India specific changes is about Rs.670 Crore.

The Backbone of IAF: Super Sukhoi 30MKI

The Sukhoi 30 MKI twin-engine, multi-role, long-range air superiority aircraft. Air-frame made from titanium and high strength aluminum alloys protect it from ballistic attack. IAF has 240 Sukhoi in its inventory, made by HAL under licenses given by Russia at Nashik Factory. Sukhoi has a fly-by-wire technology which gave the pilot better control, the maneuverability of aircraft during flight. IAF additionally order 12 more Sukhoi to maintain future requirements.

 The Jaguar

The Jaguar is a single-seat, swept-wing, twin-engine monoplane design  fighter jet. IAF call Jaguar a "deep penetration strike aircraft". Indian Jaguar had used in a different war-like Kargil, India Peacekeeping mission in Sri Lanka. Jaguar is capable of the nuclear strike to its enemy as early as possible during the war-like situation. IAF is planning to upgrade this aircraft with a new Honeywell engine and DARIN avionics. Jaguar cost Indian taxpayer about Rs.100 crore and can go up.

The Mirage 2000

When the Kargil war broke out between India & Pakistan. India Air Force use this multi-role air, superiority aircraft, which was the most advance in IAF and performed outstandingly during the whole conflict in the high altitude of the Himalayan range and was considered the game-changer. Mirage is a single-engine, delta wing fourth-generation aircraft capable of delivering nuclear deterrence. It is war proven killing machine equipped with MBDA MICA and MAGIC missile. India has signed a deal to upgrade its Mirage fleets with France in 2018 at 10,000 crores.

Tejas : Light Combat Aircraft

LCA Tejas jointly design & developed by DRDO (Defence Research Development Organisation) and HAL (Hindustan Aeronautical Limited) with 70% indigenous components. LCA Tejas is developed to replace MIG-21, Mirage 2000 aging fleets. 

IAF has given final operational clearance (FOC ) to Tejas which lay down the path for its induction. IAF has planned to procure 83 Tejas MK1 within 2025. LCA Tejas is a multi-role, delta wing, single-engine aircraft capable of firing Beyond Visual Range missile and can be engaged in any short mission. DRDO & HAL are working on its second version call Tejas MK2 which will have air refueling capability, new avionics, long-range missile to meet future requirements. 

IAF has created two squadrons of Tejas call them Flying Daggers & flying Bullets.
Tejas is a homegrown fighter and developing it means developing infrastructure inside India which can further help in similar kinds of projects like UAV, UCAV like Rustam, Ghatak. So cost does not matter but for an idea a single unit of Tejas can cost about Rs.162crore.

Conclusion

Each fighter jets are having its advantages, based on the condition they can perform specific missions. DRDO is started working on Advance Multi-Role Combat Air Craft (AMCA) which can be a game-changer for both India Air Force and the Indian Aviation industry in terms of Infrastructure, technology, supply chain development. This could cuts import costs, save forex reserves by creating an ecosystem for further development.
